Major Features

• AccountLink is updated for compatibility with the 2023 platform release.

Minor Features

• In AccountLink, at the request of a client, we added a configuration switch that treats commissions as distributions from the incoming deposit rather than distributions from the outbound author payments. When selected, this has a couple of implications:
  • Deposits that are not completely processed against their corresponding contract payments WILL NOT be exported to QuickBooks, since the true and final commission amount has not been calculated for one or more payments. AccountLink will warn you if it encounters this kind of deposit along the way.
  • Distributions crediting the commission account will take the “posted date” of the deposit as their date.
  • This feature is not compatible with the “Include Deductions Upstream” feature.
• In AccountLink, you can filter the Transactions list by the contents of the Memo field or by party name.
• In the Commission Report and the New Commission Report, on the Custom/Configure screen, you can find shortcuts beside each payment to its underlying contract and deposit records.

Improvements

• In AccountLink, we addressed an issue where, under some circumstances, changing import configuration options mid-session wouldn’t apply the new configuration until the next AccountLink session.
• In AccountLink, we resolved a problem that could cause an outside payee’s gross to improperly include expenses that were the author’s responsibility. This didn’t affect the bottom line on any payments to outside payees, but could have required manual correction by the bookkeeper at the time of export to QuickBooks.
• In various parts of the Atlas interface, deals with multiple agents participating more clearly communicate which portions of the commission are associated with which agent.
• In the Org Chart, we’ve clarified the behavior when you change a company’s name. Now, the Org Chart defaults to moving all child imprints/staff to the new company name.
• We’ve updated the New Commission Report to eliminate payments marked “not anticipated” rather than attempt to summarize them.
